The Controller processes personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (GDPR) and Czech Act No. 110/2019 Coll. on Personal Data Processing.
Data Protection Officer (DPO): Not appointed.
2. Data We Collect
2.1. Registration Data
- Email address
- Password (stored in encrypted form)
- Data from third-party sign-in (Google, Apple) — name, email
2.2. Beekeeping Data
- Names and locations of apiaries (including GPS coordinates if provided by the user)
- Hive identifiers and names
- Inspection records: observations on queen, brood, honey, health status, and other details
- Follow-up actions
2.3. Voice Recordings
- Audio recordings made during inspections
- Transcripts of voice recordings
- Structured data extracted from transcripts by AI
Voice recordings are processed solely for the purpose of speech-to-text transcription. They are not used for person identification and are not otherwise processed as biometric data within the meaning of Article 9 GDPR.

4. Obligation to Provide Data
Providing an email address is necessary for registration and use of the service. Providing voice recordings and location data (GPS) is necessary for the Application's core features to function (recording and processing inspections, assigning to an apiary). Without this data, the service cannot be provided in full.
Providing analytics data is voluntary and has no effect on Application functionality.
5. Processors and Recipients
Personal data may be shared with the following categories of recipients:

All personal data processing takes place exclusively within the European Union. Data is not transferred to third countries.
Voice recordings are deleted from third-party servers after processing. Recordings are not used to train third-party AI models. The current list of processors is available on request at info@manamel.ai.

Voice recording retention on device is configurable by the user:
- Keep all — recordings are not deleted automatically
- Keep until validated (default) — recordings are deleted after the user validates the extracted data
- Delete after transcription — recordings are deleted immediately upon completion of transcription
Unprocessed recordings (awaiting upload) are never deleted automatically.
7. Data Security
The Controller implements the following measures to protect personal data:
- Password encryption
- Encrypted communication (HTTPS)
- Per-user access controls
- Automatic deletion of voice recordings from servers after processing
8. Your Rights
As a user, you have the right to:
- Access — obtain information about the personal data we process about you
- Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure — request deletion of all your data (account deletion)
- Restriction of processing — request that processing of your data be restricted
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent to analytics processing at any time in the Application settings
- Object — object to processing based on the Controller's legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Lodge a complaint — with the Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOU), www.uoou.cz
To exercise your rights, contact the Controller at info@manamel.ai. Requests will be handled without undue delay, within 30 days at the latest.
9. Cookies
The Application is a mobile application and does not use cookies. The website www.manamel.ai may use only strictly necessary technical cookies to ensure functionality.
10. Automated Decision-Making
The Application uses artificial intelligence (AI) to automatically extract structured data from voice recordings (e.g. hive identification, queen observations, brood status). AI outputs are purely informational; no automated decision-making with legal effects on the user takes place within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR. Users can review and edit all extracted data.
11. Minors
The Application is intended for users aged 16 and over. Persons under the age of 16 may not use the service.
12. Changes to This Document
The Controller reserves the right to update this document. Users will be notified of changes via the Application or by email at least 30 days before they take effect.
