Structured records per hive
Over 40 fields per hive: queen, brood, frame counts, feeding, treatment, weight, swarming, queen rearing, and much more. Hierarchy: apiary → hive → colony → queen. Weather conditions at inspection time are captured automatically.
Follow-up tracking
Schedule a check by voice ("check in 10 days" or "next inspection next Friday") and the app extracts it with the date as an upcoming task for that hive.
Multiple hives in one recording
Walk through your apiary, talk about each hive. The AI splits your recording into individual hive inspections based on how you name them. You don't need to touch your phone during the inspection at all. The app is optimised even for multi-hour recordings.
Lifecycle event detection
Want to merge two colonies during an inspection? Requeen? Or just mark a queen from a supersedure? All of this and more — Manamel can extract directly from your voice.
Audio player with timeline
Tap anywhere in the transcript and the app jumps to that position in the audio. You can archive your recordings or have them deleted automatically based on your retention settings.
Tasks for apiaries and hives
Create tasks by voice during an inspection — say "feed hive 5 by Friday" and the app creates a task with a due date. Tasks are also auto-created from scheduled follow-ups during validation. Each task appears where it belongs — at the apiary or at the specific hive.
Reports and visualisations

Frequently asked questions
Which languages are supported?
English, Czech, and Slovak — the app understands beekeeping terminology specific to each language. Your observations stay in your language, nothing gets translated.
Do I need internet to record?
No. You can record an entire inspection completely offline. Processing starts automatically once you're back online.
How long does processing take?
Processing typically takes 20–30 minutes. The app notifies you when it's done.
How accurate is the AI?
In our testing the AI captures roughly 9 out of 10 spoken details correctly and files them under the right hive. You review and confirm everything before it's saved, and critical events like requeening or colony loss always require your validation. Measured on a controlled test set — real-world results can be a little higher or lower depending on your recording conditions.
Which devices are supported?
Manamel runs on most phones and tablets with Android 8+ and iPhone / iPad with iOS 15+.
What if I record something unintended (family conversation, etc.)?
Manamel detects when you leave the apiary (geofencing) and automatically stops recording (configurable). You can review and delete audio and transcripts anytime. Your recordings stay yours — you can set them to auto-delete from the device after validation. On the server, recordings are deleted immediately after processing.
How is my data protected?
Manamel is fully GDPR compliant. All data is processed and stored in EU data centres. You have full control over recording retention. Export your data (CSV / Excel) anytime. Delete your account with a single tap.
Can Manamel handle queen rearing?
Yes. Track the full cycle: batch creation, grafting, acceptance, caging, hatching, and laying checks. Assign queens to hives by voice ("I'm putting green queen 21 into hive 13"), report laying, marking, or transfers between hives, e.g. from a mating nuc to a full-size hive. The app sends reminders for key milestones.
Can it handle colony lifecycle changes like moving to another apiary, colony loss, merging, or requeening?
Yes. For example, you can say "I'm setting up a split in hive 5 and giving it white queen number 3" and the app creates a new colony, records its origin (split), and assigns it a queen — either offering to move an existing queen (e.g. from your rearing stock) or creating a new one (e.g. purchased).
Does the app track queen and colony lineage?
Yes. You can record a queen's daughters, so you can track the bloodline.
Does Manamel have reports and data export?
Yes. View inspection records aggregated over a chosen period in a table or chart — apiary overview, multi-hive comparison side by side, detailed per-hive charts. Export everything to Excel.

A real solution to a real problem
Manamel was born from a simple frustration: clumsy note-taking on paper or phone at the apiary while wearing gloves. Modern voice AI is finally good enough to make voice-driven inspections work — accurately, affordably, and offline.
Small team, close feedback loop
We're a family beekeeping operation running about 30 hives in the Czech-Moravian Highlands. Weronika breeds queens, Václav manages the apiary. Together we build Manamel to save time and enable better colony management. AI is our tool, not our goal. If something is missing, just reach out — we develop Manamel based on feedback from our users.
Over 20 years of experience
Weronika comes from a beekeeping family. Václav has spent his entire career in applied AI research and software engineering (PhD, publications, patents, cybersecurity) and also graduated from a beekeeping academy. We've been keeping bees together for over 10 years.
